I'm trying to improve my gaming experience with iRacing, as I'm currently facing low frame rates on my setup, which includes three 1080p 75Hz monitors. Even when I lower the settings, I'm not getting the performance I used to a few months ago, and I'm seeing CPU usage warnings. I got my PC from NZXT earlier this year, and I'm looking for suggestions on a CPU upgrade since I'm not very knowledgeable about hardware. Here are my specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 12400F (looking to upgrade this)
- GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3070 SI Edition
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 DS3H AC DDR4
- RAM: 2 sticks of TEAMGROUP-UD4-3200 DDR4 8GB
- Storage: WD Blue SN570 1TB
I'm unsure about the power supply details, but my upgrade budget is around $300 or less.

I agree with TechWhiz88, your CPU seems more than capable. Just adding more RAM should do the trick. It's essential for running multiple applications and games smoothly, especially with your triple monitor setup. You could keep your CPU and put most of your budget into upgraded memory for a noticeable performance boost.
Your CPU should be fine for what you're doing, so I’d look at your RAM instead. 8GB is pretty minimal, especially with three monitors in use. Upgrading to 16GB or even 32GB would provide a much smoother experience, since having only 8GB means your system is likely relying on the SSD for extra memory, which causes stuttering and lower frame rates.

Yeah, absolutely! I had similar issues before upgrading my RAM. It made a significant difference in performance.
