Why Does My PC Wake Up by Itself from Sleep Mode?

I've been having a frustrating issue where my new PC keeps waking itself up from sleep mode. It doesn't happen instantly; instead, it typically turns back on after 1-2 hours. I've tried running a command in the prompt to check for wake devices and turned off everything, including my Ethernet adapter. I'm confused about how this is still happening. Any ideas on what's going on?

You might want to look into scheduled events or even Wake on LAN settings. Also, checking the Event Viewer can help identify what’s causing the wake-ups.

Just to rule it out, do you live near a road where heavy trucks might be causing vibrations? That could, strangely enough, trigger wakes if your mouse is sensitive.

Turning your mouse upside down could also help; sometimes the sensors can be overly sensitive. Just a simple trick that might do the job!

Have you checked if you have a keyboard with any LED lighting? I used to have a similar issue, and it turned out my keyboard was waking the PC at night. Once I got a new one, the problem went away!

I had the same thing happen to me, it’s kind of silly how sometimes peripherals can cause these issues.

If you're always connected to Ethernet, that could be part of the problem. Also, have you tried unplugging your devices like the mouse and keyboard to see if that stops the wake-ups? That might help you find what's causing it.
