I'm using an old Acer Aspire 3 laptop with an AMD A9 processor, and I've noticed it's incredibly slow, making it unusable even for basic work tasks. I'm wondering if this slowness is due to the model itself or if there are any specific steps I can take to improve its performance. I can provide more details or specs if needed for troubleshooting.

This model is pretty basic, designed more for home use rather than heavy tasks. To speed it up, try upgrading the RAM if you can. Also, check if your hard drive is full, and consider disabling unnecessary startup apps and any processes running in the background while you're working.
If your CPU is at 100% but you say nothing else is running, then something is definitely taking up a lot of resources. Open the Processes tab in Task Manager and sort by CPU usage to see what’s causing the spike. If you spot an unfamiliar process, try Googling it to figure out what it is. Sometimes, Windows Defender or other antivirus software can hog CPU resources, so it’s worth checking that too.
Also, when you check Task Manager, look under the Performance tab. Is your disk an HDD or an SSD? If it's an HDD, and it seems to be really slow, it might be failing. You should back up your data just in case.
