I'm new to building PCs, having only ever used laptops before. I plan on using this build primarily for gaming, and I'm considering pairing it with an RTX 5060 Ti (16GB). I'm trying to figure out which CPU to choose between the Ryzen 7 8700G and the Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. They seem to be similarly priced, but I'm unsure about their performance differences and how future-proof each option is. I'd appreciate any insights on the pros and cons of each CPU. Thanks!

I totally support the idea of going Intel here. Many recommend the 250K as the better choice, especially for gaming, where you're likely to see better performance.
A lot of folks are pushing Intel over Ryzen for this situation. I'd recommend considering CPUs like the Ryzen 7500F, 7600, or any X3D variant instead. The 8700G isn't the best option, particularly with a dedicated GPU in play.
Honestly, that Core Ultra 5 is probably at least 50% better performance-wise than the Ryzen. Both options are likely overkill for the 5060 Ti, but if you're spending the money, go Intel!
