Is it a Good Time to Start Building My First PC?

Hey everyone! So I've been hearing that it's not the best time to dive into building a PC because of high component prices. I'm currently using a gaming laptop with a GTX 1660 Ti and I really need to upgrade my system in the next month. This will be my first build, and I've done some research on parts that would work well with the RTX 5070 Ti. I've put together a list on PCPartPicker and would love some feedback on whether it looks decent or if there are any changes I should consider. Thanks a lot!

What resolution and refresh rate are you planning for your monitor? The specs you have are great, but the Ryzen 7800X3D is only about 1% better than the 9600X at 1440p, and even less noticeable at 4K. You might want to save around $200 and invest that into a nicer monitor instead. Also, consider switching to CL30 RAM rather than CL36, as the prices tend to be quite close!

Thanks for the tip! I'm actually aiming for a 4K monitor with 120 fps, but really trying to make sure I can handle 1440p at around 120 fps too. Appreciate the advice!

If you're in Australia, consider changing the PCPartPicker settings to show prices in AUD. It can help a ton! Otherwise, I recommend looking for motherboard deals; Newegg might have some options where you can snag free RAM deals too. Also, think about getting cheaper storage since it won't impact performance much but will save you some cash. Lastly, your case currently only has one fan, so either upgrade to a better model like the Ultra or consider alternatives like the Montech Air 903 Max or Lian Li Lancool 207 for more airflow.
