Has anyone tried the Epson WorkForce Enterprise printers?

I'm currently evaluating the Epson WorkForce Enterprise printers. We already have about 30 Ricoh devices on contract across our three locations, and now Epson has pitched their inkjet printers that can reach speeds of up to 100 pages per minute. This seems impressive, but I'm skeptical—especially after seeing how some brands might hype their products with fine print that doesn't support high volume printing. We're heading for a demo later this week where we plan to bring actual files and paper samples to test their printing capabilities. I'd love to hear from anyone who's currently using the Epson WorkForce Enterprise printers and how they've been performing in your environment. Any insights or experiences?

Don’t forget to consider the cost per page, especially for black and color prints. It can truly make or break the deal, regardless of their speed. Besides, do we really need 100 ppm for regular office tasks?

True, I was shocked too seeing how far inkjet technology has come. I haven't shopped for an inkjet in ages, but it's definitely caught my attention.

On a side note, it's weird to think about how we're still printing so much in 2026. Didn't they say we'd be in a 'paperless' world by now? Just makes me wonder who’s actually using these big machines.

We've been using the Epson EM-C8100 for over a year now, and I'm pretty happy with it. It prints quickly with no toner smell and uses far less energy compared to our older Canon lasers. It's handled everything we need—about 500 prints a month—and the maintenance has been minimal so far.

That’s good to know! We might be looking at something larger, but it’s reassuring to hear positive feedback. I've had my issues with Ricohs too, especially when the finishers act up.

Yeah, I've had similar experiences with inkjet printers, especially from HP. They boasted about 100 ppm speed, but the fine print usually shows that the monthly duty cycle is much lower than you’d expect—like 3,500 pages. My laser printer has a much higher duty cycle and a lower cost per page. It's just not worth it if you're aiming for high volume output—most businesses need reliability over speed.

Absolutely. It's crazy how much you can miss with duty cycles. I remember seeing 'recommended' numbers and thinking they just wouldn't cut it for a heavy user.

Honestly, I would steer clear of inkjet for enterprise use. Higher costs per page and the risk of clogs from low-use situations could lead to major headaches. I've been there with home inkjet printers, and it just eats up the time and resources when all you need is a simple print.

Exactly! That’s why I'm hesitant too, especially for equipment that should handle a lot of use. You'd hope they'd have better clog prevention for something this size.
