I'm currently using a high-end, de-bloated Windows laptop for everything, but I'm looking for a second laptop specifically for robotics software development using Java on Android Studio. I don't need anything too powerful; I just want a laptop that can run most Linux distributions without much hassle. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

You might want to check out the IdeaPad Slim 3. I didn't see a price range mentioned, but I'm a web developer who strictly uses Linux at work and home. I tend to buy ThinkPads but they can be pricier than IdeaPads, which work well for development, too!
If your current laptop has USB-C, you might consider using an NVMe or SSD connected through USB-C to run Linux. Just hit F11 or whatever key you need to select the boot drive when you start up.
You can find lots of refurbished ThinkPads on eBay that used to be enterprise models. I think I might never buy a new laptop again since they're usually priced between $200 and $300. They're solid performers for what you need!
Definitely! ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 with AMD is a great option.
I totally agree! Consumer laptops just can't compare to the durability and reliability of many enterprise models.
Nice suggestion! My price range is around $300 to $550. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier.
I personally have a ThinkPad C13, which I use for small projects and as my personal terminal. It's compatible with Fedora and makes coding a breeze. It's around 200 euros on eBay, and I find the folding tablet feature underrated! Especially with the Waydroid capabilities.
Good point! This also works with USB-A or any other data transfer bus—no need for USB-C specifically.
