I'm looking to build a powerful PC for smooth VR performance in MS Flight Sim 2024 with a $2500 budget (before tax). My desired specs include a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, RTX 5080, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a 2TB NVME Gen 4 TCL SSD, an 850W PSU, a case of any type, and adequate cooling. Is this attainable, or should I be adjusting my expectations?

Realistically, you're aiming a bit high with those specifications. Before prices shot up, it might have been possible, but now? It's going to be tough. MicroCenter had some decent deals recently, but even then, sticking to your requirements would mean spending closer to $2700, especially for the GPU and RAM you want.

You might be able to make it work if you check out some pre-built options or Microcenter bundles. If you buy a 32GB prebuilt, you could sell the RAM and upgrade to a 64GB kit, but you'll need to backtrack on some components. Just be prepared for those compromises; it won’t be straightforward to build exactly what you're dreaming of for that budget.

Living near a MicroCenter could help you find better deals. They had a Corsair Build Bundle recently that included most of what you want at a good price, but you need to act fast, as it sold out quickly. Honestly, getting everything on your list for $2500 might be a stretch; major compromises are likely necessary, especially with the current prices for those parts.

Just throwing this out there—price your desired components carefully. I sifted through some bundles at MicroCenter and even built cost comparisons, and it seems like you'd have to lob off some specs to make it happen. Your wishlist looks cool, but it's going to require some creative thinking and likely compromises.

Check out PCPartPicker to lay out your build and see where you stand, but remember, it might not capture all the best deals. Just be cautious—getting everything together under $2500 sounds quite challenging given today's prices.
