Hey everyone! I'm completely new to the computer world and I'm looking for advice on getting a new laptop for college. I want something that can handle schoolwork and also play a few games like modded Minecraft and The Sims. My current HP laptop was a $200 purchase from Walmart a while back, and it's really struggling with performance now. Since I'm facing a heavier workload in college, I'm hoping to find a decent upgrade that won't break the bank. Any suggestions for budget-friendly laptops or any personal favorites? Thanks in advance!

How much were you thinking of spending?
You might want to aim for a laptop with at least these specs: a Core i5 (from three generations back is fine), a minimum of 256GB SSD, and at least 8GB RAM (ideally go for 16GB if you can). Integrated graphics should get you through basic gaming without issue. Just my two cents, but I think that would cover your needs!
Thanks for the detailed breakdown! That really helps!
I recommend checking out the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15. It's a solid option for both college work and light gaming.
I'm not really sure yet, but I'd be okay going a couple hundred over my last one (which was $200). Just trying to get some recommendations before I discuss it with my family!
