Hey everyone, I have a bit of a bizarre situation here. Recently, my laptop took a heavy hit after a spill. I tried drying it out, but when I plugged it back in, it started smoking. I've removed the charger and powered it down, but I'm now in a bit of a jam. The last repair person I went to stripped several screws, and no matter what I try—rubber bands, super glue—they just won't budge. I don't own a drill and I'd prefer not to buy one right now. My main goal is to take the battery out to prevent any fire risk, and ideally, I want to recover my SSD. Is there a safe way to get into the bottom of the laptop without damaging anything further? I'm really stuck here and could use some ideas!

Yeah, definitely get a drill, or see if you can borrow one. Using something like a Dremel could work too if you have access to one. Just be careful and precise; you don’t want to accidentally damage anything inside!
That repair guy sounds like a total disaster! Seriously, it's frustrating when someone messes up hardware like that. You might want to invest in an iFixit screwdriver kit; they can be really handy for these situations. But honestly, to tackle those stripped screws, a drill would be your best bet. If you can borrow one, that would be ideal!
