I'm looking for an affordable 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD for use as a secondary drive, so it doesn't need to be a top-tier model. I'm based in Poland and would prefer a version without a preinstalled heatsink. What models offer the best value?

The Silicon Power UD90 is worth considering if you can find it at a reasonable price. It advertises around 5,000 MB/s read and 4,800 MB/s write speeds, making it a solid budget option. However, check the exact revision before buying: newer versions reportedly use different NAND and controller hardware, with some changing from TLC to QLC. It’s still usable as a secondary drive, but it’s no longer quite the same mid-range product as the original version.

I couldn’t find the UD90 at a normal price from local stores, and I’d also prefer a model that doesn’t include a heatsink.

Other models worth checking are the GOODRAM PX600 or PX600 Lite, SanDisk SN3000, Patriot P400 Lite, and SanDisk SN5100. If they’re all similarly priced, compare their warranty, endurance rating, controller and NAND configuration, and the return policy rather than choosing based only on advertised sequential speeds. Since this is a secondary drive, any reputable PCIe 4.0 model with a good price should be adequate.

I found those models and they’re all about the same price. I also noticed the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB, which looks promising. Would that be the better choice?
