I have a 7-year-old PC that I want to upgrade over time rather than building a new one right now. I primarily use it for gaming and I'm wondering which parts I should prioritize upgrading first. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 2700X
- Motherboard: B450 Tomahawk
- GPU: 1070ti
- RAM: DDR4 16GB

If you haven't upgraded to an M.2 NVMe SSD yet, that's definitely something to consider. It can significantly speed up your system with faster boot times and game loads. After that, I'd recommend upgrading your CPU, then your GPU. Since you're gaming at 1080p, some solid options could be the 5070 or 5060 Ti. If those are pricier, you might look at a decent 30 series or AMD's 6000 series GPU instead, which could also enhance your performance.

You can get a 5800XT on Amazon for around $120 new! That upgrade would make a huge difference in your gaming experience.

It really comes down to how much you're willing to spend. If your budget allows, bumping up to something like the Ryzen 5600 along with a new graphics card could be great. If you're on a tighter budget, grabbing an NVMe SSD can really help with performance. Just remember that choosing between a CPU or GPU upgrade might be necessary.
