My HP Envy x360 has had trouble connecting to the internet for a long time. It can detect nearby Wi‑Fi networks and sometimes says it is connected and secured, but internet access still does not work. I previously worked around the issue with Ethernet or my phone's hotspot, but both of those have now stopped working too. The drivers appear to be up to date. What should I check next? This is my only device available for drawing, so I'd really like to get it working.

At this point, work through Windows’ network troubleshooting steps, including the advanced options. Also check whether the computer receives a valid IP address and gateway when connected. If it shows an address beginning with 169.254, Windows isn’t receiving one from the network. A full Network Reset in Windows may also help, but it will remove saved Wi‑Fi networks and reinstall the network adapters, so make sure you have the passwords and any necessary drivers available first.
Since Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, and a phone hotspot all fail, the issue probably isn’t the wireless adapter or your router. It may be something affecting Windows’ networking layer. From an administrator Command Prompt, try `netsh winsock reset`, `netsh int ip reset`, and `ipconfig /flushdns`, then restart the laptop. If that doesn’t help, check whether a VPN or security program was previously installed and removed, since leftover network filter drivers can interfere with every connection.
I tried those commands and restarted, but unfortunately it didn’t fix the problem. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
