Why did my sensitive message get deleted by ChatGPT?

I spent a whole hour sharing my childhood trauma in detail, hoping for understanding and guidance from ChatGPT. However, to my frustration, when I hit send, my entire message was deleted, and I received a notification about a 'violation of terms and conditions.' Since my message seems to have vanished from chat history, I can't retrieve it. I've tried several other AI tools since then, and they haven't given me this problem. Is there a workaround for this?

I’ve been through something similar, and it's a tough situation. When you're writing about sensitive topics, just save what you write elsewhere first, like in a Google Doc, before sending it off. Then, if it gets deleted, you won't be left empty-handed!

Good idea! Saving it elsewhere is a must for important stuff.

Exactly! It makes dealing with tech glitches less frustrating.

I understand how frustrating that must be! Maybe try drafting your thoughts in a local document and then pasting them in after you've had a chance to reword anything that might trigger a system response. Asking for clarification on why it was flagged might help you avoid issues in the future!

If you're dealing with sensitive topics, it’s best to rephrase your questions or break them down into smaller parts. That way, you might avoid the bot's safety net kicking in.

Yeah, that’s a solid plan! Just need to be creative with phrasing.

Absolutely! I’ve had to be careful too.

I understand your frustration! I've also had it happen when mentioning sensitive topics. If you find it’s getting flagged, try asking the chatbot to repeat it without using any potentially triggering words. It can help avoid those issues!

It’s wild how that works! Sometimes, I think they keep track of sensitive topics for legal reasons rather than actual deletion. Just a thought! But definitely try writing everything down first next time; it's probably safest.

It’s really annoying when that happens! A tip is to copy your text before hitting send, especially if it's something very important or sensitive. That way, if it gets deleted, you won't lose all your work. I do this now for long messages and it saves me a lot of stress!

I learned the hard way too, for sure! Being cautious is key.

Totally agree! I've started doing that too. It's a good habit to have.
