Is the RTX 3060 Ti’s feature set worth choosing over the faster RX 6700 XT?

I'm deciding between a used RTX 3060 Ti and RX 6700 XT. The 6700 XT is roughly 10 FPS faster in the games I'm considering, and gaming will probably be my main use. However, I'm tempted by Nvidia features such as microphone noise removal, DLSS, and stronger ray-tracing performance. Are those features valuable enough to justify choosing the slower card, or does AMD offer reasonable alternatives? My budget is limited, with the 3060 Ti costing around $200 while newer cards and used models such as the RTX 3080 are much more expensive.

Nvidia’s software features are genuinely useful if microphone noise suppression, CUDA applications, or DLSS matter to you. AMD has alternatives for noise reduction and upscaling, but they may not be as consistent or polished depending on your setup. If you mostly want straightforward gaming performance, though, the 6700 XT is the better value.

That’s my main hesitation. I’ve heard AMD’s noise suppression can be unreliable after some driver updates, while Nvidia Broadcast tends to be easier to use.

Newer cards would be preferable if the price difference were small, but paying nearly twice as much isn’t practical if you’re working with a student budget. Between these two specific used cards, I’d prioritize condition, warranty, and the games you actually play. Assuming both are in comparable shape, choose the 6700 XT for higher FPS and VRAM, or the 3060 Ti only if Nvidia’s software features are important enough that you’ll use them regularly.

For this budget, I’d lean toward the RX 6700 XT. Its extra rasterization performance and 12 GB of VRAM are more useful for normal gaming than ray tracing on a 3060 Ti. Ray tracing can work on the 3060 Ti in some games with DLSS and reduced settings, but the performance hit is significant, so it probably shouldn’t be the deciding feature.

The 3060 Ti can still manage around 60 FPS in some older ray-traced games when DLSS is enabled, but it depends heavily on the title and settings.
