My iPad was lost at SLC and now appears to be in Georgia—what should I do?

I lost my iPad at Salt Lake City International Airport, but neither the airport nor Delta has been able to locate it. Find My now shows that it is traveling in Georgia. I've already marked it as lost and added my phone number. Is there anything else I can do to recover it or protect my information?

If the location is moving, it may have been picked up by another traveler or handled with luggage. Report the updated location to law enforcement rather than trying to confront anyone yourself. You can also check whether your AppleCare+ plan includes Theft and Loss coverage, since that may provide a replacement if the iPad isn’t recovered.

Keep it marked as lost and leave the phone number displayed. Don’t remove it from your Apple Account, since that disables Activation Lock and could make it easier for someone else to use. Save screenshots of its location and contact the airport’s lost-and-found office, Delta, and local police with the tracking details.
