What AI tools should I choose with a $50 monthly budget?

I've got a $50 monthly allowance from work to spend on AI tools, and I'm trying to figure out the best options. Right now, I'm leaning towards getting ChatGPT Plus for $20/month since I've found it useful for coding help, performance reviews, and candidate interviews. We also use Gemini Pro and NotebookLM through our Google Workspace, plus we pay for Cursor for coding support. So aside from ChatGPT, what other AI tools should I consider? Maybe Perplexity or Claude? Any suggestions?

If you’re focused more on writing or research, I’d suggest trying Grammarly or Perplexity. They can really enhance that side of your work. Otherwise, for general tasks, Gemini is solid, and GitHub Copilot might be a good tool for your coding work, though I’ve heard Gemini is better overall.

Have you thought about using your funds creatively? You could also explore building your own tools or functions that leverage existing APIs—sometimes that's the best way to tailor things to your needs! But if you really want to spend, I think Claude’s worth a look, though I’ve had my issues with its API limits.

Yeah, but Claude can get limiting with those API issues. Still, if you can find a workaround, it might be worth it.

Honestly, ChatGPT just can't compare to Gemini these days. I'm using Gemini for everything now because it’s proven to be way more effective. But I do have to say, when I'm coding, Gemini can drop the ball sometimes and throw out some incorrect PowerShell commands. Still, overall, I’d stick with Gemini as my go-to.

Yeah, I've noticed the same with Gemini, especially with coding. ChatGPT is better at correcting itself after a nudge.

I’ve been really impressed with the AI integration in VS Code. It’s way more versatile than most tools since you can use it for not just code but also config files and regular chat. Plus, it’s free at the moment, so I’d definitely check that out before spending.
