I recently rebuilt and tuned my PC and want to make sure the temperatures are normal. It has a Ryzen 5 3600XT cooled by a Cooler Master 240 Atmos liquid cooler. The lowest temperature I've seen is around 41°C, while the highest has been about 66°C. Even while gaming, the CPU usually sits near 50°C at roughly 24% usage. Online temperatures seem lower, so I'm wondering whether something is configured incorrectly or if these readings are perfectly safe. The fans are also a little loud, and I'm considering adjusting the fan curve. Should the pump header be set to PWM in an MSI BIOS, or is Auto fine?

You’re fine. The cooler and its fans don’t need to run at full speed constantly, so modest temperatures during light usage are expected. I wouldn’t be concerned unless sustained loads are pushing the CPU toward 90–95°C. For the pump setting, PWM is usually appropriate if the pump is connected to a PWM-capable header and you want to control it with a curve; Auto is also generally safe if it detects the header correctly.
CPU temperature depends on room temperature, case airflow, pump and fan speeds, and the workload—not just the usage percentage. A processor can briefly boost individual cores even when overall usage is low, which causes temperature spikes. Your numbers are well within normal range, and many people see significantly higher temperatures while gaming without issues.
Those temperatures are completely safe. Ryzen processors can idle or sit at light loads in the 40–50°C range, and a 66°C peak is nowhere near a problem. The 3600XT will generally only start reducing boost behavior around its high-temperature limit, roughly 95°C, so there’s no need to worry about your current readings.
