I've just finished building my first PC, and all the fans and lights come on, so it seems to boot normally. However, my monitor stays blank. I tried connecting the HDMI cable to both the motherboard's CPU video output and the graphics card, but neither produced an image. The graphics card is a Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 6800. The processor is a Ryzen 7 7700X. What should I check next?

Since you’re getting no picture from either output, the problem may be something other than the GPU. Confirm that the processor is installed correctly and check the motherboard’s diagnostic LEDs or beep codes if it has them. Reseating the RAM and trying one memory stick at a time would also be a good next step.
Start by checking the physical connections. Make sure the HDMI cable is fully inserted, the PCIe power connectors are securely attached to the graphics card, and the RX 6800 is completely seated in the motherboard’s main PCIe slot. It’s worth removing and reinstalling the card if you’re unsure.
Make sure the monitor is manually set to the HDMI input instead of relying on automatic detection. Try another HDMI cable if possible, and test with DisplayPort as well. A bad cable or the wrong monitor input can look exactly like a hardware failure.
I’m going to try a different cable and DisplayPort after rearranging the setup. The monitor input setting is definitely worth checking too.
Also check that the card is properly supported and secured to the case. A slightly sagging or misaligned GPU can sometimes make the connection less reliable.
