I'm building a PC mainly for After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Blender, including proxy workflows, but I also want to play games at 1440p. My budget for a brand-new graphics card is up to €700, and I'm not very familiar with choosing PC hardware.
I've been considering the RTX 5070, the RTX 5060 Ti with either 8GB or 16GB of VRAM, or possibly an older RTX 3080 or 4070. The rest of the system will use an AM4 motherboard, a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, and a 2TB SSD. I'm leaning toward buying new because I'm concerned about scams and hidden issues with used graphics cards. What would be the best choice for this mix of creative work and 1440p gaming?

I would avoid the 8GB version of the RTX 5060 Ti for this use. Eight gigabytes can become restrictive in Blender and modern games, especially with high-resolution textures and detailed scenes. If VRAM is your top concern, the 16GB 5060 Ti is worth considering, but only if the price is substantially lower than a 5070.
If you can find an RTX 5070 around €700, that would probably be the strongest overall option. It should offer roughly 25–30% more performance than the RTX 5060 Ti, which matters a lot for 1440p gaming and GPU-accelerated creative work. The trade-off is that the 5060 Ti 16GB may be safer for especially complex Blender scenes or projects that exceed the 5070’s available VRAM.
A used RTX 3080 can still perform well, but newer cards offer better efficiency, newer features, warranty coverage, and usually a more comfortable long-term experience. Your Ryzen 7 5700X and 32GB of RAM are still a sensible pairing, so there’s no urgent need to replace the platform just to upgrade the graphics card. Before deciding, check how heavily your usual Adobe and Blender tasks depend on CUDA, OptiX, and VRAM, since those details can change which card is best.
