I bought a new PNY RTX 5070 OC with three fans and installed it in my system. My power supply is a Seasonic FOCUS Gold 750W semi-modular unit. It currently has one PCIe power cable coming from the PSU that splits into two sets of 6+2-pin connectors. I previously used an RTX 3060 with one of those connectors and it worked normally.
The 5070 does not appear to power on or get detected, and its fans never spin. I checked that the card and power connectors were fully inserted until they clicked. I've also seen advice saying not to power the card from a single daisy-chained cable, so I'm unsure whether my PSU and current cable setup are suitable. Could the adapter, cable configuration, or PSU compatibility be the reason the card isn't working?

Fan behavior by itself doesn’t prove the card is dead—many modern cards keep their fans stopped at idle—but the system should still detect the GPU. Reseat the card in the top PCIe slot, reconnect the monitor to the 5070 rather than the motherboard, and check whether it appears in the BIOS or Device Manager. Drivers won’t help until the card is receiving power and being detected.
A Seasonic 750W unit may provide enough total wattage, but the exact FOCUS model and its cable compatibility matter. Older or non-ATX 3.x models may not support a native 12V-2x6 cable, so do not use a modular cable from another PSU. Check Seasonic’s compatibility chart and use only the original cables supplied for your exact model. If the PSU has only one PCIe cable available, locate the remaining original cables before testing further.
First check the exact power connector and adapter included with the graphics card. Most RTX 5070 models use a 12V-2x6/12VHPWR-style connection, and the adapter usually needs multiple separate 8-pin PCIe plugs from the PSU. If your PSU only has one daisy-chained PCIe cable, that may not be the recommended setup. Use separate PSU cables if the unit supports them, and make sure the small connector is fully seated with no visible gap or sharp bend near the plug.
