My prospective employer wants to see my payslips before adding 15% to their offer, but my compensation includes substantial allowances in addition to my base salary. Their formula appears to consider only base pay, which may undervalue my current package. I don't want to disclose or alter financial documents deceptively—what legitimate alternatives can I suggest, and how should I negotiate the offer?

Don’t edit the payslip or try to make changes look undetectable. That could be treated as fraud and could jeopardize the offer or your employment. Tell them clearly that your total compensation includes allowances and that a base-salary-only comparison is misleading. Ask whether they can evaluate your full package or make an offer based on the responsibilities and market value of the new role instead.
If you’re uncomfortable revealing your exact salary, say so directly and ask what other documentation they would accept. Depending on their process, you might provide a redacted employment confirmation, a compensation summary, or proof of allowances without changing any figures. You can also negotiate a specific target salary and explain why the proposed formula does not reflect your actual compensation.
