My old Samsung Galaxy S22+ still powers on, but the touchscreen is completely blank and unusable. During my phone transfer, I discovered that Google Photos had stopped backing up some of my older gallery photos. Is there a way to recover those files without being able to use the screen?

If the phone still turns on, try connecting it to a USB-C hub or dock with HDMI, a monitor, and a USB mouse or keyboard. The Galaxy S22+ supports Samsung DeX, so you may be able to control it like a desktop computer and copy the photos. However, Android may require you to approve the USB connection on the phone first, which is difficult with a dead touchscreen.
A laptop’s USB-C port usually won’t work as a monitor input, so it probably can’t display the S22+ screen. A proper USB-C dock with HDMI output is a better option. If the phone can’t be unlocked or the connection can’t be authorized, replacing the screen is usually the safest way to regain access and copy the photos.
My current phone is a Pixel 11 Pro XL, and my laptop has a USB-C port. Could I connect the damaged Samsung directly to the laptop?
