Hey everyone! I'm about to finalize my PC build and I'm curious about the best graphics cards for gaming at 1440p that fall within the $500 to $700 range. My focus is mainly on single-player and AAA games. I'm open to both new and used options, but I'm feeling a bit lost in the current GPU market. I've come across some 5070s priced near MSRP, but I'm not sure about their 12GB of VRAM. What are your thoughts?

If you're in the USA, I'd definitely lean towards the 9070XT.

Saying that doesn't help much if stocks are above MSRP. I can't find any under $800 right now!

I recently built a system with a 12GB 7700XT, and it’s performing quite well! I got it for around $430 from Micro Center, which feels like a solid deal.

You can often find the 9070XT on sale around $700, and I think it’s superior to the 5070Ti which seems to spike at around $830. Better off with the former if you can capture a deal.

Finding a 9070XT under $800 is tough too! Just saying it’s not always available like that.

If you're investing in a GPU today, I’d recommend looking for a card with at least 16GB of VRAM. I’ve been using my RTX 3080 with 10GB at 1440p 144Hz, but I'm not keen on the 50 series; I'm thinking about waiting for the 60 series instead.

Honestly, your VRAM needs really depend on your gaming resolution. The 50 series might still work well if you're coming from older cards.

I feel the same way! The 3080 has been solid, but I've heard mixed reviews on the 50 series - they seem overpriced with only minor improvements over the 40 series. Considering the 9070XT or saving for the next-gen sounds smart.

Consider the 5060 Ti with 16GB for about $500. It’s cheaper, but the 5070 will outperform it in gaming. Just a thought! Also, 12GB VRAM really should be enough for 1440p at the moment.
