Why aren’t my iPhone contacts and bookmarks appearing in iCloud?

I'm using an iPhone Pro Max 17 with the latest version of iOS installed. In Settings, an iCloud backup reports that it completed successfully, but when I sign in to iCloud.com, my contacts and bookmarks aren't visible. I've tried backing it up over both my home Wi‑Fi and public Wi‑Fi, and I've searched for troubleshooting steps, but I still can't figure out why the data isn't appearing. The relevant iCloud options are enabled in Settings.

An iCloud device backup and iCloud syncing are separate features. Tapping “Back Up Now” creates a backup that’s mainly used to restore the phone; it doesn’t necessarily make contacts or bookmarks browsable on iCloud.com. Check Settings > [your name] > iCloud and make sure Contacts and Safari are enabled there. Those apps need to sync through iCloud separately from the setting under iCloud Backup.

The backup itself can show as completed even when individual iCloud services aren’t syncing. Look under your iCloud settings—not just the backup details—and confirm that Contacts and Safari are turned on for the same Apple Account you’re using on iCloud.com. Also allow the phone a little time on Wi‑Fi and power after enabling them.
