Is a month-long wait normal for an AWS GPU quota increase?

I submitted a quota increase request on September 11 for a relatively modest GPU requirement, but the request is still unassigned and I haven't received a response despite following up twice. The AWS account is more than six years old and in good standing. I'm moving workloads from Vultr after they discontinued fractional GPUs and was hoping to run them on AWS instead. Is this delay typical for GPU quota requests, or is there a better way to get the request reviewed?

Add a clear, human-written note directly to the request explaining what you’re migrating, which instance types and quantities you need, your expected timeline, and your projected usage or spend. GPU requests are usually reviewed manually, and that context may help the reviewer understand that it’s a legitimate migration rather than a vague capacity request.

A paid support plan may get the case in front of someone more reliably. Some people temporarily enable Business Support, submit the quota requests they need, and then downgrade afterward, but check the billing terms first—you may be charged for the full support period. It’s worth grouping all of your expected quota needs into one review rather than repeating the process later.

GPU availability varies a lot by region. If your workloads can run elsewhere, try checking alternate AWS regions and submit a request for one with more available capacity.
