Should I go for an Intel i3 or i5 laptop as a broke student?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a tech novice here and just need a laptop for basic tasks like typing up documents, creating Excel sheets, and maybe putting together a PowerPoint or two. Since I'm currently a broke student, I'm trying to decide between a more affordable Intel i3 laptop and a pricier Intel i5 option which is a bit newer. I could really use some guidance since I'm not too knowledgeable about technology. Any advice?

I'd recommend going for the i5 if your budget allows it. But there are a few factors you should also keep in mind like RAM size, the specific processor type (like H, P, or U categories), and definitely opt for an SSD for speed. Also, think about getting a laptop that's upgradable so you can improve it later! Just saying, there's more to consider than just the CPU!

The i5 I'm looking at has 8GB of RAM, but the affordable i3 has 16GB. What should I do?
