Best GPU Upgrade for GTA 6 on a $300 Budget?

I'm currently using an RTX 2060 with a Ryzen 5 5600, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, and a 550W PSU. I'm considering upgrading my GPU to something better for playing GTA 6, but I'm looking at a budget of around $300 to $350 for a used card. I'm leaning towards AMD but am wondering if NVIDIA would be a better choice since DLSS could really help with performance. I'm also open to upgrading my PSU if needed. What do you think is the best option for me?

Honestly, for your budget, finding a good used 3070 Ti might be the way to go. Just be aware that you might still face limitations since GTA 6 is expected to demand a lot of resources. Also, it might be a good idea to save a bit more for the GPU and consider getting a new PSU that can handle it.

I’d also suggest looking for something with at least 10GB of VRAM since your 2060's 6GB can be a bottleneck.

Good call! The extra VRAM will definitely help with more demanding games.

To be honest, with the way tech prices are, if you're aiming for AAA games like GTA 6, you might be looking at needing a complete system overhaul in the end. If you can hold out for a bit longer and save up, you’d have better options. That said, I wouldn’t spend too much on a card now if the game isn’t coming out for a while.

Spot on! Sometimes it’s better to wait and get something that won’t be outdated in a year.

Yeah, it's all about finding that balance between immediate needs and future-proofing your setup.

You’re probably right to consider NVIDIA for DLSS, especially with GTA 6 on the horizon. However, $300 isn't much for a solid upgrade right now. A used RTX 30 series card might be your best bet, but keep in mind your 550W PSU may limit your options. If you can stretch your budget and get a higher wattage PSU, it could really open up your choices for better GPUs.

Yeah! Double-check if your PSU is enough for whatever GPU you end up with. It's crucial for performance.

Exactly! A solid PSU can make a huge difference in ensuring stability and performance.
