Help! I Might Have Bricked My Gaming PC, What Can I Do?

I'm trying to set up a Minecraft server on my old HP Pavilion gaming PC using Ubuntu Server. However, I ran into issues when the installation couldn't detect my SSD. While troubleshooting with advice from an AI, I disabled security settings for the NVMe and PCIe slots in the BIOS. Now, after rebooting, I don't get any video signal, and even resetting the BIOS by removing the battery for 5 minutes hasn't helped. Any suggestions on how to recover my PC?

First off, check how old your computer is. Make sure secure boot is disabled, and it might help to enable legacy mode. After that, try booting up from your installation medium to see if it recognizes the SSD correctly.

I disabled secure boot already, but I still can't get any video signal. That's really my main issue now.

Before believing it's a PC issue, ensure it's not the video output device that's the problem. Check how many video outputs your PC has and their types (like DVI, HDMI, VGA). If you have multiple options, try switching to another type to rule out any display issues.

You should verify that the security settings are configured correctly. If you can’t access the BIOS screen, it could mean something went wrong. I’ve experienced worse where my PC got stuck on the BIOS screen, and I had to use a phone and a thumb drive to fix it. Also, Debian could be a better choice for your server since it’s more stable, if you manage to get things running again.

But how do I even do that when I can’t see anything on my screen?
