I'm switching to a new computer that was gifted to me, and I created a local account during setup. Unfortunately, I don't have the administrator password, which is required for some installations. I really want to play Minecraft, but is there any way to install it without triggering the UAC prompt for an admin password?

Honestly, having admin access is way more crucial than just getting Minecraft installed. You might want to think about that first!
You could reinstall Windows via USB, and that should take care of the admin access issue altogether.
Yeah, it sounds like you're using a computer that doesn't belong to you!
