Hey everyone! I'm curious if anyone here has tried using Snap and the Snap Store to download applications. Specifically, I'm considering using it to install NordVPN on my Fedora system. Have you encountered any issues or performance problems with Snaps? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

Why not give Snaps a shot? If you don't like it, you can always uninstall and try something else!

Honestly, I’d recommend sticking to native packages or Flatpak if you can. Snaps have a reputation for being a bit flaky. It might be worth checking out alternative methods before committing to Snaps for anything important.

Snaps should really be a last resort. If native packages aren't available, sure, you could go for it. But installation from source is a bit tricky. That said, Flatpak often works better than Snaps. Also, NordVPN does offer support for Linux, but it might just have a terminal interface. If you're into GUIs, look for more options.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out Flatpak and see if I can find a better option.

I've used Snaps without major issues on Ubuntu, and they worked fine for me. But if you’re on a different distro, you might find them slower and bigger than native packages. Flatpak is a great fallback if you can't find what you need.

Avoid Snaps if you can. They're often slow and just not worth the hassle. With native packages or Flatpak, you usually won't need to touch Snaps at all.
