I really enjoy using AWS Q CLI, but I'm frustrated with how complicated it is to subscribe. It feels like I have to navigate through so many steps, such as setting up an IAM center and all that jazz. Can't they just make it simple for users with a skill builder account? I don't want to hit a cap after a limit—why can't they just take my money? Am I missing something here?

I think it's worth the hassle, honestly. It's the only LLM that I trust enough to use on my OS without major concerns. The effort pays off!
I'm trying to use the free extension in VS with my builder ID, but I encounter issues where commands like /dev or /doc aren't working as expected. I thought these would be available, but it just turns into an AI query instead. After the exciting demo at the Summit, I was hoping it would be more user-friendly!
If you're really frustrated, why not consider switching to a different provider? There are others out there like GC.P or even API calls to Anthropic or OpenAI. It can feel like night and day!
I've actually found setting up Q CLI super easy! I didn't even use the subscription version, just went with the builder ID. I’ve set it up on a few different systems and it literally took me a couple of minutes each time.
I mean, setting it up isn't the issue. The process to actually subscribe is a nightmare. I've hit the cap and really want to pay for the pro subscription, but why does it have to be so complicated? Just simplify it, AWS!
