I've recently upgraded my GPU to the Palit Gamerock RTX 5070 Ti, and it's performing really well in most games like TLOU1/2 and CP2077. However, I've noticed that in games such as AC Origins and Stalker 2, my CPU (Intel Core i5-12400F) often runs at a similar load to the GPU, which isn't ideal. I want to maximize my performance without tweaking graphics settings every time. I'm planning to upgrade my CPU this summer or autumn, and I have a few options in mind. Here are my current specs:
- **GPU:** Palit Gamerock RTX 5070 Ti
- **CPU:** Intel Core i5-12400F
- **Motherboard:** MSI MAG B760 Tomahawk WIFI DDR4
- **RAM:** 32GB Kingston FURY Beast RGB (2x16GB, 3200 MHz)
- **SSD:** 1TB Kingston FURY Renegade + 512GB Samsung 980 EVO
- **PSU:** Seasonic Focus GX 750W
- **Cooler:** Deepcool AK400 (up to 220 W)
- **Case:** Lian-Li LANCOOL 216
- **Monitor:** 2x LG 27GP850P-B (1440p, 180Hz)
The CPUs I'm considering are the 14600K, 12700K, 13600K, and 14700/14700K. I think my PSU can handle them, but I'm unsure about the 14700K. Also, do I need to update the BIOS for any of these CPUs? Thanks for any suggestions!

You should be fine with any of the CPUs you mentioned alongside that GPU and PSU setup. 750 watts is definitely plenty unless you have a ton of extra components like HDDs running all the time. Personally, I’d go for the 14700/K. Both options are solid!
As a fellow 12400F user, I'm actually considering moving to an AM5 setup soon. Buying a new CPU for a DDR4 board doesn’t feel like the best investment anymore, especially with options like the 9700X out there.
I'd suggest looking into the 13600K or 14600K if you can find them at a good deal. The 14600K seems like a great option for around 200 euros. Just check how your cooler handles the heat, though!
