Hey everyone! I'm currently planning to upgrade my PC, but I want to be careful with my budget since parts are quite pricey in my area. I have a 650W power supply from my current setup, and when I checked PCPartPicker, it estimated my future build would require around 484W. I'm hoping someone here has experience or knowledge about this.
Here's what I'm planning to get:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X 3.9 GHz 6-Core
- Cooler: Deepcool AK400 DIGITAL CPU Cooler
- Motherboard: MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5
- Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
- Storage: Western Digital WD Blue SN5000 1 TB NVMe SSD
- GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 319 Black Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB
I'm planning to buy a used 6900 XT for 1440p gaming, and I chose a higher-end motherboard to future-proof it with PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 compatibility in case I want to upgrade later.
So, do you think 650W is sufficient for these parts, or should I consider getting a new power supply?

It's hard to say for sure; it really depends on the quality of your PSU. Since you mentioned it's from a local brand that rebrands Chinese units, that's a bit concerning. If your PSU has been reliable for 10 years, that's great, but be cautious. If it can't deliver enough power, it could potentially harm your new components.
You might be pushing the limits with a 650W PSU, but if it's a good quality one, you should be alright! Just make sure to keep an eye on your system's power draw. Also, if you can, try to find RAM that runs at 6000MHz CL30 for better performance.
