Hey everyone! I've been using a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler for a while now, but it has this annoying high-pitched whirring sound at default speeds. I can reduce the noise by lowering the fan speed, but that raises my CPU temperatures to 75-80 degrees, which isn't ideal during intense tasks. I'm considering switching to an AIO cooler, specifically a 240mm one, but I'm hoping to avoid a loud option. Any recommendations or experiences with coolers that are known for being quiet? My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, by the way!

Yeah, switching out the fans is definitely a good call. Fans like Noctua or be quiet! Silent Wings are reliable and super quiet. They'll fit on your cooler without any issue!
You might want to just swap the fans on your current cooler to something quieter like Arctic P12 PWMs. They can make a huge difference in noise without breaking the bank!
I didn't even think about just changing the fans! I was leaning towards an AIO since it seemed easier, but now I'll consider that option too.
Honestly, your temps are pretty reasonable even at the higher speed, but if the noise is bugging you, definitely look into getting some quiet fans from Noctua or Arctic. Those brands are known for their low noise levels.
Good to know! I might still look into new fans to keep my setup quieter.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check out those fans. Sounds like a much simpler solution than replacing the entire cooler!
