I've been worried about my financial accounts being hacked and losing everything. I considered getting a Yubikey for added security, but I noticed that none of my financial services seem to support it. Besides my bank and email, I don't really think I'm at high risk of being hacked. So, I'm wondering if I actually need a Yubikey if it doesn't work where I really need it? Am I missing something important about its use?

Your bank likely has some form of 2FA like passkeys. If you're with a reputable bank, not having 2FA could just be a mistake on your part. Unless you're facing major security threats, a Yubikey might not be necessary for you.
If your bank doesn't offer two-factor authentication nowadays, you might want to look into switching banks. Security is super important!
I personally lock down my password manager with my Yubikey since it's my most sensitive account. But if your main concern is just banking, you might not need it yet.
I use my Yubikey with KeepassXC to secure my passwords. It's really handy for that!
If it doesn't work where you need it, then there's no point in getting it. Just focus on services that do offer options you can use.
Yeah, but it's possible they have an alternative two-factor setup that doesn't involve hardware keys.
