Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to PC upgrades. I recently bought a PNY Nvidia 5060 Ti from Amazon, and my dad and I are struggling to get it to display anything. Whenever we plug it into my TV, all we get is a black screen. We've tried downloading the latest Nvidia drivers, both directly and through the Nvidia app, wiggled the GPU, and checked all the connections on my oddball PC setup. We even disabled the onboard CPU to make sure the GPU would take over. Here's what I can tell you about my PC specs: I'm running an Intel i7 with a 4600 driver from 2016, Windows 11, and a Tiger Direct H81 motherboard, with 16GB of RAM and what should be a 500W power supply. We're really stumped at this point. Any suggestions on what else we could try?

Make sure you're in UEFI boot mode in the BIOS instead of Legacy mode; switching could help. Just be careful—if your OS was installed in Legacy mode, it might not boot afterward. Have you also looked into the firmware updates for your GPU? There’s a thread about it that might help!
Your 500W power supply might not be enough for the 5060 Ti. It's generally recommended to have at least a 600W for that kind of card just to be safe. You might want to consider upgrading if you’re facing power issues.
Have you checked the different ports on the GPU to see if any of them give an output? Sometimes, certain ports can be finicky, especially if you're only using one monitor. Just a thought!
I haven't checked all the ports yet. Once my dad is done troubleshooting, I’ll look into it to see what might work!
Check if the auxiliary power is connected to your GPU! It's a quick check that can easily be overlooked. Also, make sure you're connecting your display to the GPU and not the motherboard itself—trust me, I've seen that mistake a million times!
Your motherboard might need a BIOS update to fully support the GPU. There's also a chance that the card itself could be defective, so keep that in mind. I've run into both of these problems before!
Thanks for the tip! My motherboard is a generic Tiger Direct one, so I'm not sure if it even supports UEFI, but we'll check that out.
