My daughter plugged in a brand new USB drive before starting her Acer Nitro 5 laptop, and now it keeps saying there's no bootable device. We've checked the BIOS settings but can't access the Windows recovery mode. Any ideas on what went wrong and how we can get it back to working?

Did you check where the USB drive came from? If it was something she found, it might have issues, like malware. Try unplugging the USB and rebooting the laptop. If that doesn’t work, you might need to follow steps for Windows recovery.
I understand, that can be frustrating! Since the USB drive was brand new and is a converter for her camera, it should ideally be fine. If you unplugged the USB and are still seeing that message, try creating a Windows recovery USB from another device to see if you can reinstall Windows.
