Are My CPU Temperatures Too High While Gaming?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a pre-built PC, and I've noticed that while playing games like The Last of Us 2 Remastered, my CPU temperature can hit around 85 degrees Celsius, sometimes going even higher. For other games like Cyberpunk 2077, it generally stays between 70 and 77 degrees. Should I consider replacing the entire PC, or would it just be a matter of changing the thermal paste? What do you think?

First off, 85 degrees isn't necessarily bad. It really depends on what processor you have and how good your cooler is. If it's a stock cooler and it looks basic, that might explain the high temps. I wouldn't swap the entire PC for this; maybe think about getting a better cooler instead. Thermal paste won't help much if the cooler isn't up to the task.

I have an i5-14400F with a generic cooler. You think upgrading the cooler would be worth it?

Those temperatures are actually pretty normal for gaming. While 85 degrees might sound alarming, it's not necessarily a cause for concern as long as your CPU is functioning well. Just keep an eye on it during more demanding tasks!

I was worried too, but yeah, I guess as long as it's under control, it should be fine.
