About a year ago, I had an AWS account registered with my personal information, including my name, address, and phone number. I deleted that account, and it was permanently closed. I recently created a new AWS account using the same details and submitted all the documents requested for verification, but AWS rejected the verification and said it would not reinstate the account. I'm confused because the previous account no longer exists. What is the best way to resolve this or find out what went wrong?

Support has apparently escalated the issue, so continue communicating through the open case and watch for an update. If there’s no response after a reasonable wait, follow up in the same case with a concise explanation and ask for the exact next step instead of submitting another application.
The previous account may still be associated with your identity internally, even if it was deleted. Keep working through the existing support case rather than opening more accounts, and ask support specifically which verification requirement failed or whether the old account is affecting the new one.

I waited about 12 hours but still haven’t received an update. I’ll follow up through the same case rather than creating another account.
