Best midrange GPU for gaming and CPU compatibility questions

Hey everyone! I'm new to building a PC and I'm trying to figure out what components to get. Can anyone recommend some good midrange GPUs that can handle games like Battlefield V, Apex Legends, World of Warcraft, and possibly Elden Ring at medium or high settings? I'm also curious about any significant relationship between GPUs and CPUs that I should keep in mind. If I mix brands for the GPU and CPU, will it affect performance when running a compatible motherboard? Thanks a ton for your help!

For solid performance in those games, make sure to pair a good CPU with your GPU. A decent CPU can really help your FPS. I'd suggest checking out midrange options like the RTX 4070 Ti if you can find it, or even an AMD 6600 if you're on a tighter budget.

That makes sense! I was thinking of going with a decent CPU. What do you recommend?

What's your budget looking like? The GPU market is tough right now, prices can vary. Also, second-hand GPUs can be an option, but make sure to check their condition!

My budget is around $1000-$1500 for the whole build. Would it be wise to go for a second-hand GPU?

If you're looking for something that performs well at 1440p, I'd recommend the RX 7800 XT or something from the RTX 4060 series. As for CPU and GPU brand mixing, as long as they’re compatible with your motherboard, you’re generally fine. Just get something that has a good reputation for quality!

Sounds great! I'm not too worried about ray tracing, so I’ll definitely keep those cards in mind.

It really depends on the resolution you're targeting. If you're gaming at 1440p, most midrange cards can handle it at high settings nowadays. Just keep that in mind when choosing!

Thanks for the tip! I'm leaning towards 1440p, so it's good to know midrange can handle that.
