Hey everyone! I'm looking for efficient ways to automate the patching process for software like 7zip and Notepad++ on our servers. I've heard about a few solutions like PatchMyPC and PDQ Deploy, and I'm also considering PowerShell, but ideally, I'd prefer a standalone solution. Any recommendations? Thanks!

If you're looking for a free option for your first 200 devices, Action1 could be great. It helps keep track of software updates and vulnerabilities effectively. After 200, it's pretty affordable too! Just keep in mind the licensing costs after that, though.
We’ve had great results using Ivanti Security Controls to automate updates for various third-party software. It helps detect missing updates automatically, which simplifies the maintenance process.
We just started switching over to a new system called NUERONS; hopefully, it works out!
NinitePro is another solid option; it's easy to use and supports a wide range of applications. Definitely worth considering if you want a hassle-free setup.
PDQ Deploy is a fantastic choice for just servers. It’s been reliable for many years, and it’s one of the more cost-effective options out there!
Totally agree! PDQ is super user-friendly and effective.
Yes, it's been a lifesaver for us too!
For automating tasks, we use Ansible. It runs nightly scripts to check for updates and downloads them to our file server. It’s a great solution for patch management and works seamlessly with SCCM if you prefer a GUI.
I know some teams using Ansible for Windows patching, and it’s working well for them!
I checked Action1, and the yearly fee for support after 200 devices seems a bit steep!
