Hey folks, my relative's laptop got hit by a lightning strike, and the motherboard is toast. I've got a compatible RAM stick from it, but I'm unsure if the RAM got damaged too. If I use it in my laptop, could it potentially harm any of my laptop's components?

It's probably safe to use the RAM. Unless there's a physical short circuit somewhere, it should just not work if it's damaged.
So if I take it out and it doesn't work, then we're good, right?
