I recently discovered that the fan on my power supply unit (PSU) is designed to point downwards for optimal cooling, but the screw holes in my case only align if I mount it with the fan facing upwards. My PC sits on the floor underneath my desk, and I'm not sure if this setup is okay or what I should do about it.

The fan on the PSU is usually meant to draw fresh air from below, especially if your case has vents. A lot of modern cases are designed that way. If your case doesn't support upside-down mounting, try to ensure that there's enough airflow for the PSU's fan, even if it's facing inwards into the case. Older setups often had the fan facing inwards as well, so it's not a huge issue unless airflow is blocked.
