I upgraded my AWS Skill Builder account to the Individual annual plan because I believed a paid subscription was required to redeem a student reward or voucher through AWS Builder Center. The plan is listed as $449 plus tax, totaling about $502.88, which I cannot afford. I have already canceled the subscription, but the invoice still shows as unpaid or due, and my card does not have enough funds if the charge is attempted. Has anyone successfully had a charge like this waived or reversed, and what is the best way to contact AWS about it before payment is collected?

Contact the AWS Training and Certification support team through their official contact form and explain that the upgrade was accidental, that you canceled it, and that the invoice has not been paid. Ask them to review the invoice and confirm in writing whether the charge can be voided or waived.
It is worth contacting support as soon as possible. Accidental subscription upgrades do happen, and they may be able to cancel the pending invoice or make an exception, although only the billing team can confirm that. Keep screenshots of the cancellation status and unpaid invoice, and avoid making repeated changes while the case is being reviewed.
Hopefully they can help. I canceled it right away and will include those screenshots when I follow up.

I already opened a case and it is still unassigned. Is it okay to submit another request through the training support form as well?
