My boyfriend got a new iPhone, but his old phone no longer has cellular service and won't connect to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a hotspot. We're trying to move his data to the new device. Would it be safe or possible to sign in to his Apple Account on my iPhone and use it to complete the transfer?

We eventually solved it using Apple’s satellite connectivity option on the old phone. Once it was able to get connected that way, the transfer worked perfectly.
I wouldn’t sign in to his Apple Account on your personal iPhone. His messages, photos, contacts, and other synced data could merge with your phone, and separating everything afterward can be a huge hassle. If possible, use a direct cable connection between the two iPhones or connect them to a reliable Wi-Fi network instead.
Keep both phones close together and start the Quick Start setup again. A cable transfer can also work when wireless transfer doesn’t, as long as the old phone still powers on and can be unlocked.
The old phone couldn’t connect to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a hotspot, so we had already tried those options.
