I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to make Find My iPhone show a fake location to specific friends. I love my childhood friend a lot, but they sometimes text me asking about my whereabouts, which can be tricky when I'm planning surprise parties with other mutual friends. I want to be sneaky and just mess with them a bit! The closest thing I've found is stopping location sharing altogether, but that raises red flags for them. Is there a way to indicate a false location to just this friend without affecting everyone else's view?

You could try stopping location sharing with them for a bit! But as some pointed out, since you care about them, maybe it’s better to find a fun way to let them in on the surprise without revealing everything!
You can only show your real location or stop sharing it entirely. There’s no built-in way to send a fake location on Find My Friends specifically for one person. I read that some people use other apps for this, but it could be a hassle! Just talking with them might be less work, honestly.
Honestly, you can't really lie about your location with Find My. If they found out later, it could hurt your friendship. Maybe there’s a better way to include your friend in the surprise without giving away too much?
