I'm in a bit of a tricky situation where I have to log into my Gmail account on someone else's device due to being part of a Family Plan that includes YouTube Premium. My issue is that I want to prevent this device from accessing my Gmail, Google Drive, and other Google services while still using YouTube. I've heard that it's possible to log into just YouTube, but when we tried, I saw my account pop up on Gmail and Google Drive. My parent is convinced everything's fine, but I want to protect my personal info. Did I make a mistake by logging in, and is there a way to handle this without compromising my data?

Have you thought about using a third-party app or browser to access YouTube? It might be a workaround to keep your other accounts separate, even if it's a bit of an odd fix.
You're right! Once you log into a Google account, it often syncs across services on that device. If possible, consider canceling that plan and starting fresh with a dedicated account. And remember to change your password immediately to keep your info secure.
I wish I could! I just discovered that the second account is already linked to our Android TV, and it complicates things.
Honestly, it might just be easier for the person who owns the device to get their own account. Google is tightening up on Family Plans lately, and it's causing a lot of trouble for people trying to share accounts.
I get that, but they don’t want to spend extra for their own account, which doesn’t make sense considering they pay for Netflix separately.
Unfortunately, logging into your Google account on that device will typically give access to all services. It might be best to create a separate Google account just for the Family Plan to keep your personal account safe. This way, they can still enjoy YouTube Premium, but there’s no risk to your email or files. It's a bit shady for your parent to push this without concern for your privacy.
I couldn't do that since I just found out the Family Plan is full.
Making a new account could work for YouTube, but if the Family Plan is full, it won’t grant you Premium access. That's tough luck as they're counting on you for that.
Even if I create a new account, I wouldn’t get the Premium benefits since the slots are all taken.

I tried suggesting the browser, but they’re not tech-savvy enough and prefer the convenience of the app!
