Hey everyone! I recently picked up a 5070 Ti MSI Shadow 3X, but my new Corsair RM850x PSU won't arrive until July 10th. I'm curious if I can use my current PSU, a Thermaltake BX1 650W Bronze, just for a few days without causing any damage. I won't be overclocking or anything intense—just want to keep things stable. For some context, this PSU has been handling my previous 7800 XT without any issues. Here's my current setup: 5600X + PA120, ASUS B550F, 1 SSD, 7800 XT. Any tips or advice on this? Thanks!

If you're not gaming on it, you should be fine. But honestly, I'd just wait for the new PSU to avoid any potential issues.
If you're just setting up your system to check for defects, it should manage okay. Just avoid gaming until you get the new PSU. And remember, when you switch, don’t reuse the old PSU cables—go for the new ones!
I think it could work fine! Benchmarks show the 5070 Ti usually draws way less power than your PSU can provide, but just keep an eye on it.
I wouldn't risk it. It's better to wait for your new power supply instead. Safety first!
Make sure your PSU has enough PCIe connectors for the GPU. Also, even if you've run a 7800 XT on it, the overall quality of the PSU is pretty questionable.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll make sure to keep things light until the new PSU arrives.
