I'm in the process of building a new PC featuring an i7-13700k, RTX 4070ti, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD with a 750-watt power supply. I already have a 1080p monitor that supports 144Hz, but I'm looking to get a 1440p monitor with a higher refresh rate. How many hertz should I aim for in this new monitor? Also, I'm curious about how using my existing 1080p monitor alongside a new 1440p monitor with a different refresh rate might impact my gaming and overall experience. I plan to set up a dual monitor configuration, so any insights would be greatly appreciated!

For a 1440p monitor, you should look for at least 144Hz, but something in the range of 144 to 180Hz would be ideal. If you're considering going higher, 240Hz would give you a significant jump in fluidity, though it might come at a higher cost. Mixing the 1080p 144Hz monitor with a new one should work fine, so don’t worry about that!
But won't using a 1440p monitor alongside a 1080p one create any performance bottlenecks?
